T.E.N.T IS A PROVISION BASED ON POLYVAGAL THEORY:

T.E.N.T. is an acronym for Therapeutic Education for Neurodivergence & Trauma (including chronic stress).

IT IS AVAILABLE IN TWO FORMATS:

Whilst the core of our provision is based around SUPPORTING the child/ young person; our provision ALSO provides Integration Awareness Workshops for parents, residential carers, educators, therapists, social workers and virtual heads.

The purpose of this workshop is to share the skills and opportunities that present from everyone for everyone’s benefit.

In addition to workshops, this holistic approach is UNIQUE because Mr P would work alongside the care manager to provide a managerial lead role for certain staff during the hours of education. This role would focus on enhancing the life skills of the young person, and better prepare them for independent living. It involves greater use of the skills and experiences of the residential care team. This seeks to create an encompassing therapeutic environment that then flows coherently from day to night, and from education to life skill enhancement – because everyone is tuned in together. This may involve occasional evening and week end roles for Mr P – perhaps managing the transition into a new drama or dance club etc.

It would also include more regular team training as well as workshops on aspects of emotional intelligence and nutrition, health and fitness.

It requires acceptance of a new role and a willingness to allow integration to be co-created.

T.E.N.T supports what you do and what you desire, and makes your efforts worthwhile, because you have someone available, willing and capable, with a clear purpose to benefit all.

DO NOT EXTEND DIS-EASE:

If we only relate the learning time to classroom hours and specific attention spans within this, then we are missing kmportant opportunities that may only present themselves outside of this. Limiting potential and limiting opportunities is the same as prolonging and creating dis-ease.

By INTEGRATING opportunistic SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE from ALL resources, including new Ed-technology,  we can achieve what everyone needs.

YOU CAN TRY THIS OUT AND GROW A SCALEABLE STRUCTURED PROVISION.

Using polyvagal (PNS) modalities, our structured provision will be more effective than a non-structured approach.

T.E.N.T. uses gentler approaches, such as The Trust Technique, The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP), The Yawning Protocol (YP), Coherence Breathing using HRV monitoring; Art:Binaurual Beats Combined (A2B Protocol), Emotional Freedom Therapy (EFT) and Applied Kinesiology (AK).

T.E.N.T. also uses more active approaches, such as Mirroring, Modelling, and Managing (3 M’s Protocol), or The Play, Move and Distract Protocol (PMD Protocol).
