The GKI Health Factor Zone Chart has been created by Marcus Pearson (aka Mr P or P Diddly Dacious).
It has used figures provided from leading sources around the world and they are freely available from google and YouTube. It is not a medical chart; it is for information only and the figures and information serve only as a general guide (albeit an accurate one). The results related to Mr P’s own tests are used using a high quality and certified Glucose / Keto Dual Meter with accuracy of 9% (the required minimum is 15% – so his figures are very reliable).
So, lets look at the chart and then put some detail as to the benefits or ‘otherwise’ of each zone:
Zones 5 to 8 (GKI >9) Cannot access autophagy :
Possibly 85% of people are in zones 5 and 6 (with 33% being in zone 6 – pre-diabetic) – everyone in zones 5 to 8 are insulin resistant.
When you are insulin resistant then your hormones are out of balance, your coherence is low/poor – and your ‘gut microbiomes’ are possibly circulating outide of your gut. Your energy levels, emotions and ability to think clearly, concentrate, remember or be creative will all suffer. You will probably not be sleeping very well and or will have some problems with addictions, attachment or detachment issues, eating, drinking, inflammation of some kind, mood swings and stress.
Emotional and mental issues:
People with trauma, anxiety, stress (acute and chronic stress), depression and anger problems are almost always insulin resistant. Moreover, becoming ‘insulin sensitive’ almost always helps overcome these symptoms.
Being insulin resistant, prevents the removal of damaged organelles, dangerous bacteria, and other abnormal components from your physical body. Being at levels 5+ also leads to abnormal cell growth, shortened cell survival, and increased cell susceptibility to disease (such as COVID-19). Hence people who are emotionally and mentally weak are also more prone to infection and inflammation.
These negative health zones (5 to 8) promote AGEs – Advanced glycation end products. AGE’s are proteins or lipids that become glycated as a result of exposure to sugars. They are a bio-marker implicated in aging and the development, or worsening, of many degenerative diseases, such as diabetes, atherosclerosis, chronic kidney disease, and Alzheimer’s disease.

N.B. Your body and behaviour is predominantly influenced (physically, emotionally and mentally) to safeguard and enhance the life of the ‘enterotypes’ (bacterial flora) that provide a mutualistic benefit whilst in your gut. When they are out of your gut they do not provide any benefit to you. Insulin Resistance is a sign that the 3 main types of ‘enterotypes’ are ‘out of your gut’ – and you will physically, emotionally and mentally not function in a way that is good for you!
